It was made of bronze by Nijat Sirer in 1923 for the ceremony of the 10th year of Republic. There are parts of Nutuk which was read by Atatürk in İzmit on its face.
CLOCK TOWER

The characteristic Clock Tower of the city located between İzmit, Kemalpaşa district Hunting House and Atatürk Statue, was built by İzmit Mutasarrıfı Musa Kazım Bey in 1602 in Neo-Classical style with travertine stones brought frrom Hereke and Tavşancıl in the year 1902 due to the 25th anniversary of ascending the throne by Sultan II.Abdülhamit. Its architect is Vedat Bey and it serves as a clock tower today.
KASR-I HUMAYUN

Sultan's Palace (Sultan Abdulaziz's Hunting Pavillion) İzmit
The pavillion is located next to the İzmit Clock Tower. It was built by Abdulaziz as a Hunting Pavillion-Palace. During the War of Salvation Atatürk stayed at the pavillion for a while and here he received the French writer Claude Ferrare. It is a two-storey Baroque-style structure with marble columns. With its many columns and marble-work ceiling decorations it resembles a smaller version of the Dolmabahçe Palace. Its architect is Karabet Amira Balyan. It is of great importance as it is the only palace outside of Istanbul which stands to the present. lt was damaged during the earthquake in August 17, 1999 and rearranged again as seraglio-museum after having been restored.
According to the old sources, the history of the place known as a little palace was built between 1623-1640 years by Murat IV. After that, it was collapsed by the earthquake. Today's building belongs to the 19th century. It has constructed for Sultan Abdülaziz for his visit to the opening ceremony of Haydarpaşa-İzmit Railway and his layover.
It is said that Rüştü Pasha participated opening ceremony of Anatolia line instead of the Sultan and construction date of the building is not known exactly. According to the added documents it is estimated to that building completed at the end of 1873.
MEHMET BEY (FEVZİYE) MOSQUE

The mosque was built for the soul of Mehmet Bey after his death in 1576, in a couple of years. The first demolation of Fevziye Mosque happened as a result of earthquake in 1719.
The second rebuilding process made by the management of the mosque under the leadership of Hacı Halil Ağa cause of fire which was happened before 1757.
The third rebuilding operation was made by Captain Derya Ahmet Fevzi Pasha in 1836.
It was opened for religious activities in 1836 by Sultan Mahmut II. Sultan Mahmut changed the name of the mosque "Fevziye".
PERTEV MEHMET PASHA (YENİ CUMA) MOSQUE

Pertev Pasha Külliyesi (complex of buildings adjacent to a mosque) is one of the most important monument in İzmit. It was used to serve the Ottoman Armies passing by.
Pertevpasha Külliyesi on the road to Ankara frrom İstanbul includes the mosque, the caravansaray, Turkish bath, mail children school and the fountain.
The only extant parts of the complex are the mosque and the fountain. The school had lost its original form after the restorations. The main part of the Turkish Bath in ruins is protected.
It is known that Pertev Pasha Mosque is one of Mimar Sinan's work of art. The complex was built in the name of Pertev Mehmet Pasha who was the second vizier of Selim II. It was built by his chamberlain Sinan Ağa after his death.
The mosque has a rectangular plan seem like a square, a harem (the place reserved for women), double gathering place with a single dome and a single minaret. It is surrounded by high walls. Hewn stone building has three Gates. The first one is for public enterance, the second one is for women entrance and the third one is for the minaret and mezzanine.
There are 24 windows on the square frame of the single dome. The mihrap and the mimber of the mosque are made of marble and carved geometrical shapes.
HISTORICAL RAILWAY STATION(Museum of Archelogy-Ethnography and Center of Culture and Art)-İzmit

Railway station Administration building and warehouse were planned by German Architect Otto Ritter in Neoclassical style. It was built by Italian stonemasons between 1908-1920 years. The two buildings are rare in our province in terms of architectural and art aspects reflecting period's characteristics. Historical Railway Station and Warehouse have been valued wholly and rearranged as being "Museum of Archelogy-Ethnography and Center of Culture and Art".
